How to become Unstoppable

How do we create wins after enduring a lifetime of losses? How to we get to a place where we are the force that cannot be stopped. I get asked this question a lot. How do we effectively turn the tides in our favor and see our endeavors through to completion. This will take a mindset shift. Here are a few tips to get started.

1. Appreciate the setbacks. When it seems like the world is against you and you are kicked to the ground by circumstance, celebrate. Look for the lesson or something you can take away from the situation that might benefit you. In every situation good or bad there is always something to be learned. If anything, you will learn how to survive the setback. A setback grows your capacity to handle bad situations and get out ahead of them. Appreciate all things as they are in your life. Don’t let the ugly circumstance define you and become your legacy.

2. Keep your eyes on the prize. Keep focused on your goal and the win. No matter how difficult the fight seems. Sometimes you need to get back in the rink to fight over and over until you win. Find a cause or a reason to fuel your passion to keep going. A good reason might be sharing your story of what you came through to win. Or find another cause that will motivate you to keep going. A heart on fire is a source of strength and will make you unstoppable.

3. Put a stop to fear. This can be difficult to do. Especially when we are caught up in a fear holding pattern. Everything inside of you may scream “no, I can’t do this. I’m too afraid. What if something happens? What will others think of me? What if I lose it all?" This fear will be the gate to locking up your glory. Take control of it before it stops you. Become the unstoppable force within your mind and follow through with your actions.

4. Get outside your comfort zone. Don’t let staying in your comfort zone stop you. Oftentimes we settle for mediocrity because its more convenient for us. Being in a stagnant place of wishing and not doing will not serve you. Don’t let others set the bar on how far you can go either. Sometimes what other’s think is impossible is not impossible for you. Create your own definition on what possibility is. Become the possibility.

5. Stop caring what others think. Don’t try to save or protect your reputation because this may block you on your journey to get what you need to get done. Stay focused on your state of heart and the task at hand. If your heart is aligned with your call and purpose, no man can stand in the way of that. Let God take care of the discouragers and haters. Just make sure you are doing what is right by you and true to your identity. The haters will always hate. They were created to provide contrast. Those who know who you really are will appreciate that you did not let the haters influence your fate and stop you.

6. Have an identity shift. Become who you need to become to fit into the role that would best suit your goal and identity. Transforming who you are might include; a change of appearance, a new circle of friends, updates to your resume, more experience in a specific field of work, a location change, or even a name change. You will need to have a mindset shift and acquire a new set of tools for your toolbox to become unstoppable in your pursuit.

7. Celebrate the haters. Don’t let them get you down. Use their nay saying to your advantage. They can fuel your fire. If you are like me, the more someone tells me that it is not possible the more I am assured that it is. It is in the essence of contrast that greatness is birthed. Every time you hear a “no” celebrate a “yes”. In some circumstances a role figure like a parent can push their child to success by discouragement. It is called the reverse psychology method and it works well for the truly unstoppable.

8. Forgive but don’t forget. Being hurt by others has the potential to stop us or discourage us. Forgiveness frees up our ability to move faster towards the goal because we are no longer carrying the baggage and the pain of the hurt. However, to forgive and go back to the person or thing that hurt you would be self-sabotage. Many of us have been burned over and over by the same person after we have forgiven them because they did not stop the bad behavior. We do not want to spend our time circling the same hurt over and over because we have forgotten. It’s best to move on to a higher ground with wisdom and knowledge after forgiveness.

9. Sow you shall reap. Some might call it Karma, the concept of “you reap what you sow” or “what you put in you get back out." It is a law of nature. I see this concept playing out every day in my own life and lives of family members and friends. Best to propagate positive thoughts and actions towards your destiny. When you see amazing things happening in your life, don’t take that for granted. You are responsible for it and to create more of it. Go after creating the most unstoppable version of yourself and then don’t stop there.

10. Rely on a higher power. Ask for help from God when you are unable to keep going. Oftentimes the journey gets so rough that it becomes unbearable to go alone. Therefore, you will need to rely on a greater power to sustain you. God will move mountains in your favor. Have faith in God and trust in Him that He will make a way. Watch Him unfold the miracles on your behalf. He will create wind at your sails to succeed. With God by your side, you truly can become unstoppable.
