How to Maintain a Consistent Positive Outlook in Life.


There are many benefits that come with having a positive outlook on life. Yet how do we manage to maintain positivity on a consistent basis while we are being bombarded with negativity from outside sources daily. Or how to we stay in a good place mentally when we have to deal with unfortunate things being thrown at us in life.


First we will do a break down on positive and negative energy and the roles they play in your overall wellbeing. Positive energy is expansion. It fuels your ability to move with clarity, ease, and focus on your goals. Negative energy is minimizing. It pulls you off center, creates angst, mental pain, and will ultimately slow you down in life. Not to mention causing health issues. When you are in a negative energy state, you come out of alignment with who you really are. Negativity causes you to become unable to focus on your destiny or wellbeing. Positive energy supports your overall growth.


Imagine that all your emotional energy is being held in a tank and you only have a certain amount of energy to get through each day. You cannot hold positive or negative energy in your tank at the same time, so you must choose what you will fill it with. Choose wisely. Focusing on filling your energy tank with positive will keep out the negative. Here are a few tips to staying positive and keeping out the negative in your life.


1. Be intentional about what you put into your system from the very start of the day. What are you listening to, thinking about, and or looking at. What you allow to influence you will set your vibe for the day unless you re-correct it. In the morning you are most susceptible to external influence. This includes emails, news, or information coming from outside sources right when you wake up.


2. Feed your soul with goodness constantly. Enact Philippians 4:8 as soon as possible to set your day on the right track. Look for things that are positive and resonate with positivity. It could be something beautiful or a quote that makes you elevate. It could be listening to a song you love. Anything that uplifts and is positive will get your day rolling in the right direction.


3. Make time to be grateful as your morning routine. Being grateful or thankful can change your energy instantly and set you on a good trajectory for the day. Start a gratitude journal. Write everything you can think of in that journal that you are grateful for. Make this part of your morning routine. If you can’t think of something, think up a miracle in the future that you will be grateful for when it shows up and focus on that and write it down. This really works. It's how I manifested my husband and a host of other things in my life.

5. Start the day with movement. Exercise as part of your daily morning routine. This releases endorphins into your system right out the chute. When endorphins are enacted, this makes you feel good, vibrant, and alive. You can ride on this feeling as long as it lasts. This will influence your day positively and give you more positive momentum. In this feel-good state, it will be easier for you to navigate around negative things that would otherwise crush your day.


6. Be quick to turn from the negative back to positive when something bad happens that knocks you off momentum. If life isn’t going the way you want it, move away from circling the negative and dwelling on it. The faster you get back on track the more positive energy you put back into your tank. If you cannot find a solution to what is going wrong in your life find a solution turn your focus away from it.


7. Resolve negative issues fast. Sometimes we let unresolved thoughts or encounters things of a negative nature build over time and then explode when we can’t hold them in any longer. Don’t let this happen. Address issues when they come up and get them resolved as quickly as possible. This way you can move on from dwelling on the negative. Be authentic and always do you. Don’t settle or do what you don't feel is in your core alignment.


8. Focus on creating positive memories and moments. Our lives can be lived to the fullest when we savor every moment and create excitement in each little thing we do. Sometimes it is just as simple as adding flowers to our dinner table and taking time out to make a joke. Happiness is created moment by moment. It is not an end destination. It is something we create. It doesn't just happen by default.


9. Let your life be surrounded by positive influence. Whether it be friends, influencers, or the type music, movies, or books you choose to expose yourself to. Choose the positive to spend your time with. It will make a huge difference with your happy mindset.


10. Find purpose and fulfillment in giving back to others in whatever way or capacity that you can. When you are focused on others, especially during hard times, you close the door to your dwelling on the negative in your life. You become a problem solver and a solution finder which brings happiness to you. Being creative and creating for others is also a way to give back. Because you are sharing your gifts and talents.
